How CBD Helped Miss Daisie

It is no secret that I love animals. In fact, helping animals is my life, and every dog who passes through my door becomes family. Miss Daisie: Overcoming Tumors Naturally

When I met a 14-year-old black lab named Daisie on Oct. 1, 2019, I was excited to start helping her live her best life and enjoy her twilight years. I immediately fell in love with her gentle soul the minute she stepped foot on my farm. Her black coat peppered with gray, she had youthful eyes that twinkled despite being in her twilight years.

Miss Daisie’s pet-parent had passed away and the family brought her to my boarding facility while they made final arrangements. When I called a week later to check in with Daisie’s previous owner’s son, he told me that he could not take her, nor could he find anyone who would. The situation was traumatic for Daisie, losing her home and her family in one fell swoop, and we knew she would need extra love and I immediately offered to make my farm rescue, Fire Flake Farm, her forever home.

After a week, we could tell Daisie was terrified and confused. Before coming to us, she was being fed the cheapest kibble on the market which made matters worse. In addition to her emotional distress, Daisie was suffering physical ailments:

She was suffering from poor health and had a large mast cell tumor the size of a golf ball on her back just above her tail. She could barely use her back legs and was dragging them behind her. Unable to hear, Miss Daisie relies on her senses of smell and vision, but life without a key sense had made her weary. She rarely looked up or made eye contact but always wanted to be near me.

Despite her struggles, Daisie wanted to be part of the pack—she just needed help getting there.

The CBD helped Miss Daisie greatly, and by giving Daisie both the tincture and salve, her issues were treated from the inside-out. Is CBD a Safe Natural Option for Dogs?

Scientific research confirms that CBD is safe and well-tolerated in dogs. Because FSHE supports natural body functions, it has been widely used for dogs experiencing discomfort, inflammation, and abnormal cell growth.

Science shows CBD is safe and effective for all mammals both topically and orally. In a study conducted by Colorado State University, 10 mg/kg/day or 20mg/kg/day was orally administered to dogs for 6 days. CBD was tolerated in the entire study population.

Unlike many traditional medications, research has proven that CBD is effectively and quickly absorbed into the bloodstream when administered both orally and topically. Another study conducted by the Department of Pharmacy, School of Pharmacy at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel concluded that: “CBD was observed to have a large volume of distribution [in dogs studied].”

Even more important: in a study conducted by the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences, University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy, dogs were found to have a substantial amount of receptors in their endocannabinoid system, specifically in the spine and skin, which allows dogs to more effectively use CBD.

This all means that FSHE CBD is both efficient, effective, and safe for dogs. Not only is it safe for dogs, when it comes to tumors in dogs, studies have shown that CBD can effectively combat tumors and cancerous growths and inhibit future growths.

Miss Daisie’s Tumors After CBD

CBD helped Miss Daisie with her tumors significantly. With regular application of REMEDY full spectrum hemp CBD salve as well as oral administration of the HEAL tincture twice daily, Daisie’s tumor shrank significantly – decreasing in size by a third, within the first month.

During that month, the large painful growth popped, oozed, and detached from Daisie’s spinal area. The tumor softened, but still feels that there is a small hard area inside, which appears to be scar tissue. Months later, there is no sign of the tumor.

Because of the changes in diet and the addition of CBD into her regimen, Daisie has begun to move more quickly, and she doesn’t have any new growths forming. Even better: she is more relaxed and not in pain. She has started to swim and can even get up to a full trot. She looks up at me and makes eye contact now – a sight that warms my heart every time. And, even though she is deaf, Daisie loves to jump up and bark with the rest of the pack when the UPS man knocks on the front door now.

Final Update: A Beautiful Life Well-Lived

Miss Daisie passed away in July 2021, just three months shy of her 17th birthday. Not from cancer—but simply from old age.
